Description

"Welcome to BRIDLE WORK"

	This course is designed to teach your horse key bridle cues from the ground that will prepare you and your horse for riding and training under saddle. You will learn how to use your aids from the ground that you will later transition to riding under saddle. This is the first training step that will lead you from basic ground work, "first ride", to flying lead changes. This is a step-by-step A-Z training program. *Included in this course is:*
	Animations.
	Over 100 pages of lesson cue cards.
	Helpful troubleshooting hints.
	Links to helpful concepts
	Detail explanation of the use of aids
	Quizzes to help you retain important points.

These are the eight basic components you will need to build first before you take the first ride.

1	"Going Forward"	5	"Back Up"

3	"Disengaging Haunches"	7	"Pivoting on Haunches"
4	"Stopping"	8	"Side Pass"

The cues/aids you will teach from the ground are the same cues/aids used under saddle. You will want to complete "Bridle Work" before you advance to the "Western Dressage" course. If you skip these exercises, you will have major gaps in you ability to your ability in your ability to communicate with your horse as you progress to the complex maneuvers that follow. Many times in later lessons we will refer back to this course.

	This "Troubleshooting Button" is where you will find a quick reference to "Troubleshooting" and a wealth of other problem solving solutions for training ground work.

"Training Rules"

	Exaggerate to teach, refine as you go!
	Be as soft as possible, firm as necessary!
	Do not peck at the horse, "get in" / "get out" "get it done"!
	Ask, Insist, Demand!
	The horse needs to be quieter at the end than the beginning of the lesson!.

"Respect" comes from controlling the horse's feet. The horse will automatically give you his attention and respect when you become his leader by controlling his feet. "Bridle Work" will fix many problems of respect and improve the attention span of the horse if you follow this program.

Always, always after every exercise, desensitize the horse to your "AIDS"!
